Hello Sweet One,
It is quiet here this morning. I invite you to sit with my words for a minute or two and contemplate their deeper meaning for you. Come on, take a moment for reflection. My question for you is not trivial, it is vital to your well-being. Ok, here it is: “Did you make your bed this morning?”
This inquiry, I firmly, honestly believe, is foundational to your mental and spiritual health. Outer order contributes to inner calm. Order creates serenity. God created the world with a plan and a rhythm. Season follows season. Night follows day. Each day is twenty-four hours. Each hour is sixty minutes and each minute contains just sixty seconds. Nothing random.
So I ask you, is your life hectic and out-of-sync? If so, start your day with a routine and include making your bed as part of that plan. You need a sanctuary. If you are home all day or when you return after a hectic day at work, savor the serenity of your bedroom and claim it as sacred space. Perhaps lay a mat on the floor where you might do some stretches, relaxing your body and mind for quiet meditation and prayer. Light a lavender scented candle to contribute to your relaxation practice. My prayer is that you create a sacred space in which to center yourself and receive the blessing of inner calm. Begin by making your bed.
And may your sleep be sweet,
Linda
