Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart.                                                                                                                                                       Colossians 3:15
Good morning, dear ones,
Thank you, God, for this new week.  Last week was a doozy.  The world must have been on tilt and all the crappy stuff swung to Clearwater.  Teacher friends back at school were facing chaos from new state regulations and changes to curriculum.  Long days and into the night they worked getting ready for the new school year.  Another friend had family upheavals with lots of hurt feelings. And in my little corner of the world, the youngest was quite sick with covid in spite of being fully vaccinated.  The oldest son was trimming trees in our backyard and the chainsaw ricocheted and he went to the ER for stiches.  And my doctor informed me that my blood work was off and ordered a complete abdominal scan which, for a cancer thriver, is indeed a scary procedure.  Yet, I can say with confidence that I maintained my sanity. My usual support people were feeling overwhelmed with their own stuff, so it was just me and the Lord.  And that was enough, more than enough to see me through the stormy week.
The Amplified Bible (my favorite translation ever) of Colossians 3: 15, reads, “Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with him] be the controlling factor in your heart deciding and settling questions that arise.”  My word to you right now is to make sacred time a priority—a daily habit.   Know that God longs to be with you, to speak to you through the Word, and to grant you peace. It’s an investment of your time that pays huge dividends.  Use your time wisely.  Choose the best counselor ever, our wonderful God.            Linda

If you are new to this site, welcome. If you are a returning friend, I am once again honored to spend time with you.  So glad that you came to visit.
When I write, I like to sit in my favorite wicker chair on our screened porch and just rest a while waiting for the cares and stresses of my hectic life to rock away.    Psalm 46:10 speaks to my heart and tells me to, "Be still, and know that I am God."

"Jesus said, "When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action.  And when two or three are together because of me, you can be sure I'll be there"(Matt. 18:20 Msg). It is my prayer that you will join me on the porch for a moment with our Father.  Read one of my "Joy in the Morning" letters and just sit with the message for a bit.  Then, if you choose, get out your own personal journal and select the "Points to Ponder" tab, select a question,  and put your thoughts on paper.  You have all the answers to any problem within you just waiting to surface. I have also written some prayers for you if you are having difficulty putting your needs into words.

The wind rustling through the leaves of our old oak tree remind me of the breath of  God's Spirit seeking to awaken my soul to the Holy surrounding and infilling me.   And the whisper of the fountain streaming reminds me of  God's cleansing and refreshing grace and I feel my body calm and my muscles release their tight grip on my need to control.  It is at this moment of stillness that I hear the Divine whisper my name.  Sit, relax, and rest a bit.  May you hear His Voice and find grace, peace, and joy in this holy moment on this Sacred Space.  Linda
