Joy in the Morning
Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Psalm 103:1-2
Hello Friend,
As this day begins, here are a few of the innumerable gospel benefits for which I am especially grateful. Forgives all your sins. That is named first on the list of benefits the Lord provides. The Lord forgives all your sins—all my sins—the minor and the major. Often I look upon others and see the speck and completely miss the log in my own (see Matt. 9:41). It is easier not to look inside upon the messy. I convince myself that your frailties are really much worse than mine. What arrogance!
Psalm 103 continues with, “who redeems your life from the pit.” Yes, Lord, my life is often the pit. I lie in the darkness of sin and wallow in self-pity. “Lord, make this life easier,” I say, when those around me are suffering from want and disease. What a gracious Lord! Your overlook my complaining, my judgmental attitude, and my self-absorption, and redeem my life from the pit. Thank you, Jesus.
Praise you Lord, for amidst the mire of my life, you crown me with love and compassion. And you satisfy my desires with good things so that my youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Ps.103:5). I cannot help but praise you Lord. You are worthy! What a wonderful Savior I serve! Have you remembered His benefits?
On my knees with thanksgiving, Linda
