He made all kinds of beautiful trees grow there and produce good fruit. Genesis 2:9
Hello Friend,
What a blessing to be able to meet with you this morning and share a word of wisdom with you. It is a new year and a new beginning for each of us. We can choose to live the same year over again or we can decide to grow as God has ordained each of us to do.
If God cares about the growth of trees and the quality of fruit they produce, how much more do you think your Heavenly Father cares about your potential and the use of the gifts He has placed within you? The Talmud says, “Every blade of grass has its angel that bends over it and whispers grow, grow.”
God wants you to become aware of your surroundings, to see each tree and blade of grass with wide eyes of wonder and awe—to experience new things, to see beauty where once was ashes, to regard each instrument you touch as sacred—yes, even the piles of laundry waiting to be cleaned and pressed. St. Teresa of Avila told the sisters in her community, “God walks among the pots and pans.” You may need to continue the same employment as in 2011, or make the same beds, or care for the same unruly, and at the same time, delightful children, but you can perform each task a new spiritual awareness of the sacredness of all you do and are. And God will place an angel by your side who will bend over and whisper, “Your hands are anointed. Well done, my beloved child.”
Growing in my awareness of the Holy,
Linda
