Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14
Hello Friend,
Good morning to you. Are you all dressed and ready to go out the door to the mall, or work, or to visit a friend? Did you look in a full-length mirror and make sure that everything goes together beautifully? This is not my gift—coordinating my outfits, picking the perfect piece of jewelry for accent, or even making sure the colors complement each other as I am slightly colorblind. My cousin, Leslie, can take an inexpensive dress off the rack and add just the right scarf and shoes and look like she just come from the Paris runway. But since I am wardrobe challenged, this morning I choose to clothe myself with love.
Today, I am going to enjoy being me. No sense being whiny or resentful toward someone who seems to have more than their fair share of life’s blessings. If my friends don’t give me genuine compliments today about my looks on the outside, I am going to feel good about myself on the inside. I choose not to put people in my life who do not rejoice with me or who are not happy about my accomplishments.
What are you going to clothe yourself with this week? I think a joyful smile would look great on your face! Choose to surround yourself with friends who are affirming. Never accept underserved criticism or negativity. Clothe yourself with love. Be gentle with yourself getting lots of rest and needed rejuvenation. Treat yourself as royalty. Wear purple today. Remember, you are a child of the King. You are loved with an everlasting love. Enjoy His embrace.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY: Father, too often I am self-critical and don’t like myself. Help me to know that you created me special and unique with gifts and talents that are mine to explore. Let me feel your loving arms holding me close to your breast. I thank you, Father, for your unconditional love. Amen. Love is around and within me this morning, Linda
