Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. Joshua 24:15
Hello Dear Brave Friend,
This is, once again, the beginning of another beautiful week. Hope you woke this morning with the bluebird of happiness chirping outside your window. I understand that last week you may have made some poor decisions. Looking back your heart may be filled with regret. And that failure-feeling is just-a hangin’ on. Been there! Done that! But the word gospel means “good news.” And the best thing about God’s Word is that it is encouraging. Our scripture today says “Choose THIS day.” That means you get a do-over. Jesus says to the woman caught in adultery, “Neither do I condemn you.” The world might! You may have a crowd of taunting voices hissing at you—judging you—perhaps even the voice in your own head is shouting “failure.” But Jesus gives us a new day. Twenty-four hours in which to make better choices. Someone said, I don’t honestly remember who, I just remember hearing these words and they touched my heart: “When you know better, you do better.”
So yesterday’s choices hurt. Your self-worth. Your reputation. But in all truth, people are focused on their own lives and they will forget your indiscretion. Probably faster than you will. So take heart. Get out of bed. Lift up your head. Open your ears to the good news. Try again. Everyone loves Rocky. Don’t let life knock you out. Be brave! I pronounce you the “winner.” Smile!
Linda
