Still writing on the subject of forgiveness.
Step one in the process is the willingness to write the deed in the sand.
Step two is making the decision to walk away from the pain and allow god to deal with the offender.
Step three is for those who want to become Spiritual Giants: Ask God to bless those who have hurt you.
OUCH! This one is so HARD! I know and understand. But remember, Don't kill the messenger. I am not making this up to give you grief. This is God's Word to you. "Love your enemies. Bless them that curse you." An example of a prayer you might say would be: "________________________, I bless you and allow you to continue with your life as God leads." If this is too difficult for you at this time, then I would suggest the following: Close your eyes and go to God in prayer. Picture the person in the hands of God. Resist the temptation to ask God to give them a whopping case of the flu. Just kidding! Don't offer suggestions as to how God should deal with them. Don't ask God to change the person's heart or to make them repent. Just lift them up o God for a blessing, the same blessing for which you yourself long. And when you are able to do this, the process of forgiveness is completed. Your broken heart has been healed and your hope has been restored. The future seems bright and you walk with confidence and ease. May God richly bless you as you walk this journey to wholeness. Linda
POWER THOUGHT: As I extend forgiveness, I am filled with the peace of God and I feel joyful.
